The owner of the Hamilton Timber Company from 1975 to 1993, he previously held the positions of partner at Hamilton Clarkson Company from 1967 to 1981, and salesman and sales manager for Bookkeepers Business Services Company from 1974 to 1981. Prior to these appointments, he served Honeywell International Inc. as a test technician from 1973 to 1974, Underwood Construction as an office manager from 1970 to 1971, and the Kansas Engineering Society as an assistant vice president in 1969. Mr. Hamilton began his career as the assistant vice president for Kansas Savings & Loan League from 1967 to 1969.
Mr. Hamilton holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Washburn University. He also completed postgraduate coursework at the Electronics Institute, where he received the "Best Student in Postgraduate Course" plaque. A longtime member of American Forests and the Missouri Tree Farmers Association, he created a program to deliver church service cassettes to invalids and previously volunteered with the American Lung Association and the American National Red Cross. He is the founder of the Mifflin Acres Homeowners Committee. Mr. Hamilton has been featured in numerous newspaper articles by the Kansas Engineering Society as well as in a genealogy book of Hamilton family history.
An audiophile, he also enjoys photography, electronics and vexillology in his free time, Mr. Hamilton was born in St. Louis, MO to James L. Hamilton and Areta A. (Augustine) Hamilton. He has been married to Mary J. Hamilton since 1971 and is the proud father of Jill E. Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton has been cited in several editions of Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who in the World.
