KATY, TX, September 19, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Betty L. Taylor with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Taylor celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Taylor is a registered nurse and licensed chemical dependency counselor who retired in 2010 after devoting 24 years in behavioral health at the University of Texas beginning in 1986 and four years as a surgical nurse at Ben Taub General Hospital in Houston, TX, beginning in 1982.
Entering the health care industry due to a very personal experience as a child, Ms. Taylor remembers taking care of an elderly gentleman in the neighborhood who had suffered a stroke. Although he had a family of his own with grandchildren nearby, they did not help him. Remembering the many times that she would visit his house to feed and comfort him, she quickly realized that a career in nursing was something she would aspire to pursue in the coming years.
The author of "The Professional Computer Training Program," Ms. Taylor is also a longtime member of Alpha Delta Sigma. She has been cited in the 15th edition of Who's Who of American Women. Ms. Taylor received an Associate of Arts from Tyler Junior College in 1975, followed by a Bachelor of Science at Texas Woman's University in 1982. A registered nurse, her license in chemical dependency is specific to the 12-step recovery program with cocaine and alcohol addictions, as well as group therapy. She is also educated in medical claims and billing specialist studies.
Born in San Augustine, TX, to parents Arvessie and Gertrude Taylor, Ms. Taylor has remained in Texas her entire life. Now in retirement, she enjoys spending her free time cooking, studying fashion and participating in bible study.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Betty L. Taylor has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
