Previously, he held the position of consultant of pediatric cardiology at RWJ University Hospital Somerset from 1999 to 2012, senior consultant in pediatric cardiology and attending pediatrician at Saint Barnabas Medical Center from 1983 to 2012, and pediatric cardiologist in his private practice from 1983 to 2012. Additionally, he served as the chief of the department of pediatric cardiology for the Children's Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center from 1999 to 2004, consultant in pediatric cardiology at Saint Clare's Denville Hospital from 1996 to 2010, associate consultant in pediatric cardiology for the Richmond University Medical Center from 1983 to 2009, and chief resident in pediatrics in the primary care training program at the Metropolitan Hospital Center for New York Medical College from 1980 to 1981. Dr. Langsner began his career as a resident in pediatrics in the primary care training program at the Metropolitan Hospital Center for New York Medical College from 1978 to 1980.
Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Langsner pursued an education at Fairleigh Dickinson University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1970. He continued his academic efforts with a Doctor of Medicine in 1977 at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara. He concluded his studies at New York University in 1978, completing postgraduate coursework. Following these accomplishments, Dr. Langsner was certified in pediatric cardiology by the American Board of pediatrics in 1983, licensed to practice medicine in New York from 1978 to 2018, and licensed to practice medicine in New Jersey in 1982.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Dr. Langsner has participated in numerous endeavors in his professional circles. Since 1983, he has held the role of consultant in pediatric cardiology for the School of Medicine at New York University. He has also contributed on the Perinatal Review Committee for the medical board at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, and to the Staten Island University Hospital as a consultant from 1985 to 2003. Dr. Langsner has found much success with his written works as well, having penned articles for such esteemed journals as the British Heart Journal, the Journal of Cardiovascular Diagnosis & Procedures and Pediatric Cardiology.
In addition to his primary trade, Dr. Langsner remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He has maintained involvement with the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Cardiology as a councilor since 2006 and on the executive council since 2004. Furthermore, Dr. Langsner was a member of the Essex County Medical Society.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Dr. Langsner has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. He has been recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a Pediatric Cardiology Fellow of the NYU Langone Hospitals in 1983.
