Certified through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, he has been affiliated with such prestigious institutions as Lenox Hill Hospital, the Hospital for Special Surgery, Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital, and St. Vincent's Hospital. He was also the head team physician for the New Jersey Nets before the organization relocated to Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. Kelly has written numerous articles on knee surgery during his career, and he co-edited the second edition of the textbook "Surgery of the Knee." He has delivered lectures in the U.S. and abroad on topics related to sports medicine, knee surgery and total knee replacement, and he has also conducted clinical research into various knee disorders affecting his patients. A past president of the American Knee Society, Dr. Kelly is founding chairman of the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall.
