ORMOND BEACH, FL, October 11, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Elio F. Beltran has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With more than 50 years of industry experience to his credit, Mr. Beltran is currently retired from full-time vocational activity, dedicating his time and resources towards artistic work. Prior to his retirement, he held the position of international sales regional manager for Philips Lighting Holding B.V. from 1984 to 1999. Previously, he served Norelco as a sales manager from 1979 to 1984. Between 1949 and 1960, Mr. Beltran began his career with the Royal-Dutch Shell Oil Company, rising from the post of assistant chief engineer to regional manager.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Beltran pursued an education at Fernando Aguado y Rico Technological Institute, earning an honorary diploma in electro-mechanics in 1948. He continued his academic efforts with an English language post-graduate certificate by the Cuba Ministry of Education in 1953 and certification in special education for advanced English language proficiency at Cuyahoga Community College in 1965. Following these accomplishments, he obtained an advanced courses certificate in technological knowledge of the science of the art of illumination from the New York City Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society in 1968. Licensed as a teacher by the Cuba Ministry of Education, Mr. Beltran concluded his studies with a certificate in effective executive communication at the Center for Professional Development at the School of Business Administration at Temple University in 1981.
As an artist, he participated with his works and was awarded a Cintas Fellowship in New York starting in 1983. Since then, with his work, he is still part of this prestigious Fellowship. Elio Beltran has also contributed his works to the collection of the Museum of Modern Art of the Americas in Washington, DC. The Jersey City Museum, and The Florida International University Museum Collection. His work has been exhibited by The Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago, and the St. Augustine Art Association in Florida, under the effort and interest shown by the association's Director, Mrs. Elyse Brady. He was especially invited by the latter to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the discovery of Florida by Ponce de Leon under the title "What Flows from Spain" (April 5-May 2013), for which Mr. Beltran painted five large scale oils, and contributed to this exhibition with another ten of Mr. Beltran's paintings which were part of the exhibition celebrated in Spain under the name of Cultural Roots "Raices Culturales" in 2005. He has also had several pieces featured in the Museum of Bergen between 1982 and 1995. Mr. Beltran's work is represented in private collections in Mexico, The United States of America, United Kingdom, and Spain. A large part of his art work collection has found a permanent home at Florida International University in Miami where the works will be placed on view in future appropriate events, yet to be announced by the University.
Mr. Beltran found success with his written works as well, having authored "Back to Cuba: The Return of the Butterflies" in 2003. He would later update this publication with "Back to Cuba: The Return of the Butterflies, Special Edition" in 2011. At the time of this announcement he has completed editing New Second, historically Updated Special Edition now ready for publication. As an author, he has been authoring poems and essays throughout his career. Mr. Beltran has further added poetry and graphic design for Popol Vuh with the New Jersey City University.
In addition to his primary trade, Mr. Beltran remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. From 2001 to 2010, he maintained involvement with the Celia Viñas Cultural Association, in Almeria, Spain. He was also active with "La Musa Traviesa" Tertulia Literaria at New Jersey City University from 1980 to 1990. Mr. Beltran is a member of the St. Augustine Art Association, and has been involved with New York City's Pan-American Circle of Culture since the 1980s. He has participated in conferences as an invited guest at the Flagler County Art League in Florida.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Beltran has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. He has garnered Honorary Invitations for the 500-Year Anniversary for the Discovery of Florida in 2013, the Celebration of Don Francisco de Goya y Lucientes in Zaragoza, Spain, in 2007, and the "Raices Culturales: Cultural Roots Celebrating Hispanic Heritage" exhibition in Roquetas de Mar, Almeria, Spain, in 2005. He was recognized as a Priority Fellow in the New Jersey State Council on the Arts from 1983 to 1984 and Outstanding Latino of the Year in Art by the New Jersey Channel in 1995. Mr. Beltran was selected for inclusion in the 59th edition of Who's Who in America.
Mr. Beltran was presented with the Priority Award from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts from 1982 to 1983, the Painting Award from the Institute of International Education, Inc., with the Cintas Foundation from 1983 to 1984, and the Top Sales Award from the Export Division of Philips Lighting Holding B.V. from 1991 to 1992. Most recently, he has received the National Artist of the Year Painting Award from the New Jersey Network in 1994, an Honorary Prize for Exceptional Artistic Achievement in Oil Painting from Bergen County, NJ, in 1997, the Silver Medal Award from the French Academy of Arts, Sciences and Letters from 2002 to 2003, and the Special Nomination Award for Visual Artist of the Year from The International Biographical Center in Cambridge, England in 2004, celebrating fourteen oils related to his "Balseros", (Cuban Rafters) series of oils that are part of the art collection of Florida International University, in Miami, since the 1990's. Additionally, in this year, 2018, a significant amount of his artworks collection has found a permanent home for an important enhancement of the FIU Art Collection.
Elio F. Beltran also received awards from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, The Institute of International Education's Cintas Award, The Silver Medal award from the French Academy of Arts Sciences and Letters in Paris, France, as well as having been nominated Artist of the year by also receiving many other honors for his "Back to Cuba/The Return of the Butterflies" book, and for his Childhood Memories of Cuba Paintings. The Author/Artist also continues to pursue his career endeavors in Andalusia, Spain, and in the United States, where he continues to live with his Spanish American wife Aurora A. McIntosh-Beltran, Since 1994. Looking toward the future, Mr. Beltran hopes to continue cementing his legacy as a renowned artist.
