With more than 40 years of industry experience to his credit, Dr. Kahnweiler is currently retired, having most recently served as a professor at Georgia State University from 1990 to 2015. Dr. Kahnweiler's career began as a program administrator for the Adolescent Counseling Center at Amherst High School in Massachusetts after he received a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education from Washington University in St. Louis.
Dr. Kahnweiler continued his career in Florida, becoming an instructor, consultant, researcher and therapist at both Florida State University and the Florida Correctional Institute. During this time, he also earned a Doctor of Philosophy in counseling and organizational development from Florida State University.
In 1979, Dr. Kahnweiler was appointed assistant professor at Miami University in Oxford, OH. One year later, he accepted a position as a management trainer and consultant with the General Electric Company in Cincinnati, OH. From 1983 to 1990, Dr. Kahnweiler was a management consultant for Hay Management Consultants, now known as the Korn Ferry Hay Group, as well as the Human Resources Consulting Group and Wilmington College.
Dr. Kahnweiler is a member of the American Psychological Association. Additionally, he is a member of the division of industrial and organizational psychology of the Institute of Organization Development as well as Phi Beta Kappa.

Outside of his career aspirations, Dr. Kahnweiler volunteers in the field of addiction.
