The former manager for the Korean Air Company for 11 years, Dr. Cho served in the Korean Army as a military officer and lieutenant in the mid-1980s.

To prepare for his illustrious career, Dr. Sung Eui Cho pursued formal education at Seoul National University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in geography in 1986. Soon thereafter, he received a Master of Business Administration in business administration from the Graduate School of Business Administration at Yonsei University in 1996. Dr. Cho concluded his education in 2003, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy in business administration from Korea University.
As a testament to his professional success, Dr. Sung Eui Cho has accrued several accolades in recognition of his exceptional undertakings in education. He received the Honorable Teacher Award from the Renmin University of China in 2017, having previously accepted the Best Paper Award from the Korean Entrepreneurship Society in 2012.
