Dr. Tannai has served as a researcher for the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Tokyo since 2015. Earlier in his career, he gained valuable expertise as a teaching assistant in pure and applied physics at Waseda University in Tokyo and as a research assistant with the School of Engineering at the University of Tokyo. Although his career is still in its infancy, he has already conducted significant research as a mathematician on an interdisciplinary approach between pure and applied mathematics and physics, especially statistical mechanics for theoretical analysis of bio-inspired network models and numerical stimulation for them. This research was the basis for Dr. Tannai's doctoral dissertation entitled, "Mathematical Approaches to Interaction among Congestion at Multiple Junctions in Transportation Networks."
Dr. Tannai has co-authored a number of articles that have been featured in Physics Letters A, including "Theoretical Approach to Congestion Relaxation and Saturated Congestion in TASEP (Totally Asymmetric Simple Exclusion Process) Network with Multi-Chain Section with Flow/Density-dependent Rules of Junctions." In addition to being a regular contributor of articles to professional journals, he is also a regular speaker in his field and has served as a reviewer for Physics Letters A since 2017.
An expert in his field, Dr. Tannai holds a Bachelor of Science in physics and a Master of Science in physics and applied physics from Waseda University, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in advanced interdisciplinary studies from the University of Tokyo. In order to stay abreast of changes in the field, he affiliates himself with the Securities Analysts Association of Japan and the Mathematical Society of Japan, both of which he has maintained a connection with since 2010. For his excellence in the field, he was awarded a SEUT Fellowship. Going forward, he intends to further his expertise in the field and serve with a research institute or company that encourages the research of scientific issues and collective dynamics. As he continues his research, Dr. Tannai also intends to pursue further mathematics education.
