Prior to pursuing a career in education, Dr. Stanley Weinkauf received a Bachelor of Arts from Wisconsin State University-Eau Claire in 1961. She went on to attend the University of Tennessee, where she completed a Master of Arts in 1962 and PhD in 1966. During this time, Dr. Stanley Weinkauf worked as a graduate assistant and instructor. She later joined Adrian College as an assistant professor of English, a position she held for three years. Upon joining Dakota Wesleyan University in 1969, Dr. Stanley Weinkauf accepted a position as a professor and head of the English department. She remained in this role for more than two decades before joining Columbia College as a part-time instructor in 1989. Dr. Stanley Weinkauf completed a Master of Divinity through the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago in 1993.
Throughout the course of her career, Dr. Stanley Weinkauf has been featured in a wide range of honors publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who of American Women. She has authored numerous written works, including "Murder Most Poetic," which was published in 1996. Her earlier works include "Hard Boiled Heretic" and "Sermons in Science Fiction." Prior to her retirement, Dr. Stanley Weinkauf served as the director of the Lay School for Mission at Sayner Campus from 2006 to 2013.
Dr. Stanley Weinkauf maintains involvement with a variety of organizations, including the American Association of University Women, National Council of Teachers of English, South Dakota Council of Teachers of English, Science Fiction Research Association, Popular Culture Association, Milton Society of America, South Dakota State Poetry Society, Delta Kappa Gamma, Sigma Tau Delta, Pi Kappa Delta and Phi Kappa Phi. Since 2013, she has served as the vice president of the American Association of University Women. Dr. Stanley Weinkauf was previously recognized as the state president of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international society that promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.
