An accomplished listee, Ms. Dark celebrates many years of experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. With nearly 40 years of professional experience, Ms. Dark has been a professor with the Howard University School of Law since 2001, specializing in torts, products liability, and health law. In addition to her primary role, she has served as Associate Provost for Faculty Development since 2015, having been Interim Dean from 2012 to 2014 and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 2005 to 2012. Prior to obtaining these positions, she was an Assistant U.S. Attorney from 1995 to 2001, and with the University of Richmond School of Law as a professor from 1990 to 1997, associate professor from 1987 to 1990, and assistant professor from 1984 to 1987. At the University of Richmond School of Law, she was the first African American to become a tenured member of that faculty and the first African American woman at the University. Earlier in her career, Ms. Dark was a trial attorney with the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in 1984, having been an honors program graduate and trial attorney with the Antitrust Division from 1979 to 1984. Among her accomplishments, she is well known nationally as an advocate for Fair Housing, and a founding Board member for the Northwest Health Foundation in Portland, OR.

Ms. Dark began her career as a student at Upsala College, majoring in History and obtaining a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in 1976. She then attended Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1979. Ms. Dark was admitted to practice in the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania and as an associate attorney in Virginia, as well as before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Throughout her career, Ms. Dark has been recognized for her contributions, including twice with the Distinguished Educator Award from the University of Richmond and the Distinguished Faculty Award from the Virginia Women Attorneys Association Foundation. The YWCA named her a Distinguished Woman in Law, the Hope Fair Housing Center gave her the Hope for People Award, and the Dale City Christian Church gave her the Afro-American Achievement Award. The National Alliance of Fair Housing Association gave her an Award of Excellence, and Howard University gave her the Warren Rosarium Professor Excellence Award and the Mentor of the Year Award. Ms. Dark was awarded the Pauline Murray Outstanding Woman Leader Award, and the American Bar Association for her well-known work on Diversity in the legal profession. Recently, she was awarded a Distinguished Alumna Award by Rutgers University School of Law.

Ms. Dark has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who of American Women.
