Over the years, he has also gained valuable expertise through administrative roles with Tufts University School of Medicine, Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and the Academy for Educational Development. Within an ever-changing field, Dr. Abu-Moustafa maintains affiliation with the American Mineralogical Society of America, the Geological Society of America, and Arab American Physicians.
As Dean of International Affairs at Tufts University Schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine, Dr. Abu-Moustafa has additionally developed and implemented instructional programs in medicine and medical administration between United States and Saudi Arabian universities. He has further coordinated the development of state-of-the-art emergency rooms for the ARAMCO Health Center. Dr. Abu-Moustafa established the International Program for the School of Medicine and School of Dental Medicine at Tufts University, raising $100 million and training over 1000 Saudi Arabian physicians and dentists in various clinical fields leading to American Board Certifications.
An expert in his field, Dr. Abu-Moustafa earned a Bachelor of Science in special geology from Cairo University, a Master of Arts in geology from Harvard University and a Doctor of Philosophy in geochemistry from Boston University. For his excellence in the field, he has been recognized with the Baraka Prize for achievements in geology and has a classroom that bears his name at Tufts University School of Medicine.
