Levy, MD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Levy celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
The executive director and co-founder of the Move A-Head Foundation in Garrison, NY, Dr. Levy is an orthopedic surgeon who has dedicated his career to assisting stroke and traumatic brain injury victims, especially younger patients. Establishing his organization in 2017, it is the result of his own life experiences and his desire to pay it forward to the under-served population. Working through a learning disability as a child and later suffering trauma after experiencing a stroke while completing residency work, Dr. Levy also hopes to continue to raise awareness about strokes.
Born and raised in New York, Dr. Levy is one of six brothers. He is happily married to his wife Allison, a fiction author and former FOX News employee, and is the proud father of two daughters. Dr. Levy and his wife have since co-authored a book," Beauty in the Broken Places," in 2018, a story of his experiences in medical school and the stroke he suffered during his third year of residency. He has also contributed numerous articles to peer-reviewed journals in his area of expertise.
Following in the footsteps of his father, who holds two doctorates, Dr. Levy took an interest in medicine when he was just a child. Going on to college, he earned a Doctor of Medicine from Columbia University in 2012. While pursuing his degrees, Dr. Levy was a well-recognized athlete on campus and a two-time winner of the Winthrop A. Smith Award for superior conditioning while playing on the Yale University lacrosse team as an undergraduate student.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, David M. Levy, MD, has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
