Ms. Bagaria began her career as a consultant with Miller & Webster in Clinton, Maryland from 1980 to 1982. After this appointment, she worked in her private law practice in Bowie, Maryland from 1982 to 2005. In addition to her legal career, she served on the inquiry committee for the attorney grievance committee of Maryland from 1991 to 1997. Ms. Bagaria considers the highlight of her career to be the time that she won an appeal brought by a father who didn't want to pay her fee for representing his daughter in his contested divorce.
Prior to embarking on her career, Ms. Bagaria earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Detroit Mercy in Michigan, in 1964. Following this accomplishment, she obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., in 1980. Ms. Bagaria has been licensed to practice law by the Maryland State Bar in 1980 and admitted to practice by the United States District Court for the District of Maryland in 1982.
In addition to her career, Ms. Bagaria held a number of positions for Prince George's County, Maryland, including appointments on the advisory committee on aging from 1998 to 2004 and on the adult public guardianship review board from 2009 to 2015. She was a member of the Prince George's Women's Lawyers Caucus, where she excelled as secretary in 1984, president in 1986 and treasurer in 1997. Ms. Bagaria also maintained involvement with the Maryland State Bar Association, the Women's Bar Association of Maryland and the Prince George's County Bar Association.
Ms. Bagaria held membership with Soroptimist International, where she was appointed to the role of president of the Bowie-Crofton chapter from 1988 to 1989 and from 1993 to 1994. She was further affiliated with the Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce, where she contributed on the board of directors from 1995 to 1997 and from 1999 to 2000 and as secretary from 1997 to 1998 and from 1998 to 1999. She was recognized as an Outstanding Business Person by the Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce in 1997. Ms. Bagaria has previously been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
