Prior to obtaining this role at the Georgia Institute of Technology, he held the positions of associate professor from 1982 to 1991, and assistant professor from 1977 to 1982 and from 1974 to 1975. From 1975 to 1977, he served as an assistant professor with Williams College. Earlier in his career, Dr. Green was a visiting lecturer with the University of Oslo from 1972 to 1974.
Dr. Green was inspired to pursue a career in the field from an early age, having always had a love for education both as a student and teacher. He began his career as a student at Yale University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1967. He concluded his education at the University of Pennsylvania, garnering a Master of Arts in 1970 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1973.
A respected voice in the industry, Dr. Green has been affiliated with numerous professional organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. A former member of the board of advisors for Configurations, he is also active with the Society for Literature and Science, the Mathematics Association of America, and the American Mathematical Society. He has written several articles in professional journals, and he was the coordinator of the graduate and undergraduate mathematics programs at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Green has further shared his expertise as a visiting associate professor for Tulane University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Green has been recognized for his contributions. He has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
