A physician in Bronxville, NY, Dr. Levitt has served at the Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, as an attending pediatrician since 1975 and as a member of the Medical Executive committee since 2007. She has also been active on the Medical Staff of Lawrence Hospital New York-Presbyterian in Bronxville since 1978, where she served as the Director of Pediatrics, the President of the Medical Staff, and a member of the Board of Governors. Since 2003, Dr. Levitt has held the position of Medical Director of the Bronxville School District.

In addition, Dr. Levitt, a Board certified Pediatrician, has served as a faculty member at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, having previously taught Pediatrics since 1973. She has volunteered as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine since 1976. Recently, Dr. Levitt was a contributing author for "Safe Sports: 10 Best Practices," published by the Westchester County, N.Y. Concussion Task Force in 2015.

A naturalized US citizen, Dr Levitt obtained a Bachelor of Arts at New York University in 1967 and a Doctor of Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in 1971, and completed an internship and residency in Pediatrics at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, between 1970 and 1973. Recognized as an Honorary Founder of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1995, Dr. Levitt has also been featured in over 50 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare and Who's Who of American Women.

Involved in public service for many years, Dr. Levitt served as the Mayor of Scarsdale, NY, between 2011 and 2013, having been Police Commissioner between 2010 and 2011, Fire Commissioner between 2009 and 2010, and a Member of the Village Board of Trustees from 2007 to 2011. She was further active on the Westchester County, NY Concussion Task Force through 2015. She is a longtime member of the Westchester County Medical Society as well.

An elected Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Levitt has maintained involvement on the National Board of Governors of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Alumni Association, and as the Chairman of the School Health Committee of the District 22, Chapter 3 Northern regions of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

In 1983, Dr. Levitt was appointed as School Physician for the Bronxville Board of Education, and holds certification as a licensed NY State School Medical Director. She has received certification of her office by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a Designated International Vaccine Center in 2008, and is a Provider in the NY State Vaccines for Children Program. Between 2002 and 2004, she was a member of the Council of the Faculty of Medicine's Health Sciences Division at Columbia University. Dr Levitt, a Consultant in Pediatrics for the NY State Worker's Compensation Board, was designated an expert for the Office of Professional Medical Conduct with the New York State Department of Health, and is a member of the Disaster Response Team with ServNY, as a physician volunteer, since 2014.
