An expert in his field, Dr. Kotler earned a Master of Arts from the University of Chicago and a Doctor of Philosophy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Subsequently, he completed postgraduate studies with the University of Chicago and Harvard University. Over the years, he has accepted 22 honorary doctoral degrees.
Using a plethora of industry knowledge, Dr. Kotler has authored over 70 books and 160 articles including Confronting Capital, Democracy in Decline, Marketing Management, Museum Strategy and Marketing, Marketing for Non-Profit Organizations, Social Marketing, Marketing Places, The Marketing of Nations, Corporate Social Responsibility, Strategic Marketing for Health Care Organizations, Winning at Innovation, Winning Global Markets, Marketing Your Way to Growth, Brand Activism, and My Adventures in Marketing.
For his professional accomplishments, he was presented with the McLaren Advertising Research Award for Best Article on Media Selection and Marketer of the Year Award through the American Marketing Association. He was also inducted into the Marketing Hall of Fame in 2013 and helped established the Philip Kotler Award for Excellence in Health Care Marketing that is distributed through the Academy of Health Services Marketing. He was the first person selected to be featured in the Legends in Marketing Series.
