Prior to obtaining this position, he excelled as a partner with Arcaro and Reilly from 1981 to 1991, and as an appellate conferee with the United States Department of the Treasury from 1976 to 1981. Earlier in his career, he found success as an agent with the Internal Revenue Service from 1972 to 1975. In addition to his primary responsibilities, Mr. Reilly has served as an associate professor at Bryant College 1983 to 1988.
Mr. Reilly began his career as a student at Providence College, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in business administration in 1972. He continued his studies at Suffolk University, earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1979. He has been admitted to practice law before the United States District Court of the District of Rhode Island, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, the Supreme Court of the United States, and the United States Court of Claims. Mr. Reilly is also certified as a public accountant in the state of Rhode Island.
A respected leader in his industry, Mr. Reilly has been affiliated with a number of organizations in his community. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Rhode Island Society of CPAs, and the American Bar Association. The former chair of the tax section of the Rhode Island Bar Association, Mr. Reilly has been additionally active with Rhode Island Country and Ballenisles Country Club.
Throughout his career, Mr. Reilly has been celebrated for his contributions, having accepted the American Jurisprudence Award for Criminal Law. He has been recognized among the Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, and the Best Tax Lawyers in Rhode Island.
