Supported by 15 years of professional excellence, Dr. Ki-Han Kim currently serves as the section chief of the department of surgery at Busan Medical Center, where he had previously held the role of chief. Earlier in his career, he worked for the Dong-A Medical Center as an assistant professor in the department of surgery. Additionally, Dr. Kim found success at Dong-A University, where he completed an internship, residency and fellowship.
Prior to entering the field, Dr. Ki-Han Kim pursued an education at Dong-A University, earning a Master of Science. He continued his efforts at the same academic institute, obtaining a Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Kim concluded his studies at Dong-A University, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy.
For his excellence in the field, Dr. Ki-Han Kim has been honored with Best Poster Awards at the 6th International Gastric Cancer Congress and the 63rd Annual Congress of the Korean Surgical Society. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he has been certified by the Korean Surgical Society, the Korean Gastric Cancer Association, the Korean Society of Endoscopic & Laparoscopic Surgeons, the Korean Society of Surgical Metabolism and Nutrition and as an upper gastrointestinal surgeon. A member of the Korean Society of Laparoscopy Surgery, Dr. Kim has been further appointed to the public affairs committee for the Korean Gastric Cancer Association and the regulation committee for the Korean Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal Surgery Study Group.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kim has had his work featured in a number of professional publications, including the Medicine, the Digestive Surgery, the Hepato-Gastroenterology, the World Journal of Surgical Oncology, the Journal of the Korean Surgical Society, the Yonsei Medical Journal, the International Journal of Surgery, the World Journal of Gastroenterology, the Journal of the Korean Society of Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery and the Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology. Along with other scholars in the field, he wrote such medical papers as "How Much Progress Has Been Made in Minimally Invasive Surgery for Gastric Cancer in Korea?: A Viewpoint From Korean Prospective Clinical Trials," "Analysis of prognostic factors and outcomes of gastric cancer in younger patients: A case control study using propensity score methods," "Risk Factors for Duodenal Stump Leakage after Gastrectomy for Gastric Cancer and Management Technique of Stump Leakage" and "endoscopic treatment and risk factors of postoperative anastomotic bleeding after gastrectomy for gastric cancer."
