With more than 40 years of professional experience, Dr. Stier most recently served as the applied technical manager of oral care at Firmenich from 2005 until his retirement in 2010, having previously held the role of senior chemist at Noville, Inc., from 1997 to 2005 and technology director at Noville, Inc., from 2003 to 2005. Prior to obtaining these roles, he was a research associate with Beecham Products Research from 1973 to 1997 and an analytical chemist with Schering AG from 1970 to 1973. Earlier in his career, Dr. Stier was a technician with the Burroughs Wellcome Fund from 1968 to 1970.
Dr. Stier began his career as a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in 1968. He later joined Stafford University, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry in 2003. In addition to his primary roles, he has served as a consultant with Procter and Gamble Company, GlaxoSmithKline and Diamond Products.
A respected voice in his industry, Dr. Stier has been an active leader in his community. He is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Chemical Society, the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, the International Association for Dental Research, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, Sigma Xi, Phi Zeta Kappa and Phi Omega Epsilon. An assistant scoutmaster eagle scout with 3 palms 1961 for the Boy Scouts of America, he has also been a minister of the New Apostolic Church for 50 years. Dr. Stier holds 27 United States patents and has written four articles in his areas of expertise.
Throughout his career, Dr. Stier has been recognized for his contributions. A prolific inventor in his industry, he was named an Outstanding Citizen by B'nai B'rith in 1968. He has also been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in the World.
