An accomplished listee, Barbara Mauldin celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After accruing twenty five years of practiced industry experience, Dr. Mauldin retired from her role as a curator of Latin American folk art for the Museum of International Folk Art in 2014. Previously, she worked for eight years as a curator of Native American art at the Laboratory of Anthropology in Santa Fe, NM. With a plethora of knowledge at her disposal, she authored "Folk Art of the Andes," "Masks of Mexico," "The Revival of Puebla Mayolica in the Twentieth Century" and "Lightbulbs, Watchbands, and Plastic Baby Dolls: Industrial Appropriations in Corpus Christi Festival Headdresses of Highland Ecuador." Since her retirement, Dr. Mauldin has been dedicated to community efforts through the Santa Fe International Folk Art Market, for which she was appointed to the selection committee.

For her outstanding accomplishments, Dr. Mauldin accepted numerous grants from the Rockefeller Foundation, the National Endowment of the Humanities and the National Endowment for the Arts. She has also been honored with multiple features in Who's Who in America and Who's Who of American Women for her professional excellence.
