With nearly 50 years of professional experience, Dr. Nassar has been recognized as professor emeritus of Louisiana Tech University since 2007, having been Maxfield professor of mathematics and statistics from 1995 to 2007. Prior to obtaining this role, he has been a professor of statistics at Kansas State University since 1974, having been associate professor from 1968 to 1974 and assistant professor from 1966 to 1968. From 1964 to 1966, he was a member of the visiting faculty of the University of Minnesota, and from 1963 to 1964, he was a research associate with the University of California, Davis, where he was previously a research assistant from 1960 to 1963. Earlier in his career, Dr. Nassar was a research fellow at the University of Idaho for two years beginning in 1958.
Alongside his primary career endeavors, Dr. Nassar served as a visiting professor at numerous academic institutions, including the Government Research Institute in Hamburg, Germany; the National Research Institute in Toulouse, France; the University of Giessen, Germany, and the University of Kiel in Germany. A contributor of numerous articles to scientific journals and a book on modeling of microfabrication systems (Springer-Verlag), he has also served as major professor for numerous graduate students and an editor of many journals within his areas of expertise. Among the many highlights of his career, he cites his numerous publications within the field of engineering to be crowning achievements. Notably, he formerly acted as chair of myriad conferences affiliated with the International Academy of Business and Public Administration Disciplines.
Dr. Nassar began his career as a student at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in 1958. He continued his studies with the University of Idaho, completing a Master of Science in 1960. He then joined the University of California, Davis, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in 1963.
Throughout his career, Dr. Nassar has been recognized for his contributions. A research grantee, he has been recognized as an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow and a French Government Fellow. He has also been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who in the World.
