Prior to obtaining this role, she worked for United Community Hospital as a nurse manager with the surgical unit from 1990 to 1993, the assistant head nurse of the surgical unit from 1982 to 1990, and a clinical coordinator from 1981 to 1982. She served as the assistant head nurse at Grove City Hospital from 1970 to 1981 and as a staff nurse with Butler County Memorial Hospital from 1968 to 1970. Earlier in her career, Ms. Sellers held the post of staff nurse at the Oil City Hospital from 1967 to 1968.
Ms. Sellers began her career as a student at the Oil City School of Nursing, obtaining a diploma in 1967. She subsequently enrolled in the West Pennsylvania Registered Medical Program, earning a stroke nurse certification in 1971. Ms. Sellers is a registered nurse in the state of Pennsylvania.
A respected leader in her community, Ms. Sellers has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She has found success as the chair of the audit committee and the patient education committee at United Community Hospital. She was further active as a seminar instructor for "Stroke: A Beginning or the End." Additionally, Ms. Sellers is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. As a breeder of Bichon Frise and Maltese dogs in 2008 and 2009, she sold 12 puppies to area families.
Throughout her career, Ms. Sellers has been recognized for her achievements in the field. She has been featured in numerous publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Nursing, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the East, and Who's Who of American Women.
