After accruing 30 years of practiced industry experience, Dr. McCrary retired from her role as a professor at Jacksonville State University in Alabama, where she had also worked as assistant and associate professor. At the start of her career, she found success in education with Scottsboro Junior High School, Bridgeport Elementary School, Stevenson Elementary School and Mississippi State University. In addition to her work in education, she excelled as owner and operator of The Art Studio in Scottsboro from 1981 until 1983, and held the position of a presenter in the field. In a career filled with highlights, Dr. McCrary notes that her time teaching at Jacksonville University ranks among her proudest moments.
Dr. McCrary earned a Bachelor of Arts from David Lipscomb University, a Master of Education from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University and a Doctor of Philosophy from Mississippi State University. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, she is affiliated with the Mid-South Educational Research Association. During her spare time, Dr. McCrary dedicated her efforts to charitable and community endeavors through the Scottsboro Board of Education, the Alabama Association of School Boards and the Scottsboro Chamber of Commerce.
Due to her professional accomplishments, Dr. McCrary was presented with annual faculty research grants from Jacksonville State University. Likewise, she was featured in multiple editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who of American Women. Looking towards the future, Dr. McCrary intends to continue enjoying her retirement.
