Prior to obtaining her current role, she held a number of positions with Loma Linda University Medical Center, including executive director of quality resource management and medical staff administration from 1994 to 2015, nursing quality coordinator from 1987 to 1994, nurse specialist and director of pulmonary rehabilitation from 1977 to 1987, and staff and head nurse from 1974 to 1977. Earlier in her career, Ms. Hills was a staff nurse with Kettering Medical Center from 1972 to 1974 and with Porter Adventist Hospital from 1971 to 1972.
Ms. Hills began her career as a student at Union College, where she received a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1971. After obtaining valuable experience in the field, she returned to her studies with Loma Linda University, earning a Master of Science in nursing in 1981. Ms. Hills is a licensed registered nurse and certified professional in health care quality.
A respected voice in the field, Ms. Hills has been an active leader in her community. She is a member of the Gamma Alpha chapter of Sigma Theta Tau. She has authored and co-authored texts in her areas of expertise, and she has contributed articles to professional journals. Ms. Hills has developed and taught courses on pulmonary care, quality improvement and wound care, and she has been affiliated with the boards of the American Lung Association of San Bernardino, Inyo and Mono Counties.
Throughout her career, Ms. Hill has been recognized for her achievements. She was named among the Outstanding Young Women in America, and the American Respiratory Care Foundation gave her the Parke-Davis Literary Award.
