Dr. Shyamala Mruthinti Presented with the "Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award" by Marquis Who's Who



Dr. Shyamala Mruthinti's holistic and compassionate approach to cognitive disorders is beneficial for learners at all levels of experience.

    MABLETON, GA, February 27, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Shyamala Mruthinti received the "Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award" by Marquis Who's Who in 2018. Dr. Shyamala Mruthinti has more than 35 years of professional excellence in teaching and research in the fields of Botany, Philosophy, Immunology, Neuroscience, Music Therapy, and Cognitive Based Compassion Training (CBCT). Dr. Mruthinti received a Bachelor of Science (B. Sc) in 1972, and a Master of Arts (M.A) in philosophy in 1974, both from Osmania University. She she received a Master of Science (M.Sc) from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in 1977, concluding her studies in 1982 with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).

Dr. Mruthinti has worked as a Senior Research Fellow and Assistant Professor at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India from 1982-86. She joined as a Post-Doctoral-fellow and Assistant Professor in the Department of Immunology at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) in Augusta, Georgia from 1987-1996. She worked as a Research Biologist and Pharmacologist at the VA Medical Center from 1996-2011. Dr. Mruthinti served as the director & Manager of Monoclonal Antibody Core Facility & Flow Cytometer lab at MCG and the VA in Augusta, Georgia. Most recently, Dr. Mruthinti has completed Cognitive Based Compassion Training (CBCT) from Emory University.

Dr. Mruthinti has received several national research grants for her work on Sickle Cell Disease, Ovarian Cancer, Diabetes, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases from various institutions and funding agencies, including the Medical College of Georgia (MCG), Cancer Research Center, NIH and VA-Merit Review Award. Dr. Mruthinti has disclosed four inventions and, in 2010, she received one provisional patent in the United States on a novel oral vaccine for Alzheimer's disease. She is the founding member and CEO of two biotechnology companies, Immuno-Rx. Inc and Datta ImmunoChem, Inc. Dr. Mruthinti's research has been published in the Journal of Laboratory and Clinical Medicine, the American Journal of Hematology, the Journal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, the Journal of Molecular Neuroscience, and the Journal of Gerontology. She has been an invited speaker at many conferences,, including the International Conference on Mind and Consciousness Studies at Arizona in San Diego and Chicago, as well as several institutions in India, including the Birla College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Kerala University of Health Sciences, University of Chandigarh, Asha Hospital of Hyderabad, and Datta-Yoga-Center of Mysore.

Dr. Mruthinti has accrued several accolades throughout her extensive career as a research scientist. She received the "Senior Ranger Award" in Bharat Scouts and Guides by the Governor of Hyderabad, the "Junior Research Fellowship Award" by the University Grants Commission, a Senior Research Fellowship Award by the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, and a "Ten Year Federal Government Service Award", "Superior Performance Award" and "Research Excellence Award in Alzheimer's Research" from the VA Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. Dr. Mruthinti was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who of American Women. Dr. Mruthinti is a lifetime member of the Alzheimer's Association both in the United States and in India.

Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Dr. Mruthinti is also trained in Reiki and Healing Music Therapy from Datta-Yoga-Center. Reflective of her interdisciplinary interests, she is also a trained teacher in Cognitive Based Compassion Training (CBCT) from Emory University.
