Supported by over 40 years of professional excellence in the fields of law and fund development, Mr. Vranicar most recently served as a planned giving director of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph in Missouri from 2002 until his retirement in 2017. At the inception of his career, he served as a judge advocate in the U.S. Air Force before joining Rich, Granoff, Levy & Gee as an associate and partner. From there, he became a partner with Seigfreid, Bingham, Levy, Selzer & Gee. Over the course of his career, he has also gained valuable experience through his executive work with Midwest Christian Counseling Center and Bank of America Private Bank. He completed his legal career by using legal concepts to assist worthy non-profit organizations to raise necessary donations from loyal supporters.
In 1993, at the height of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, Mr. Vranicar helped conceive the Dramatic Health Education Project alongside staff members of the Coterie Theatre and the Preventive Health Department of the University of Kansas School of Medicine. The Project aims to spur awareness of and prevent teenagers from engaging in high-risk behavior that might lead to contracting sexually-transmitted diseases. Funded by grants, the Program has been a pioneer in HIV/AIDS and STD education. Over its continuous existence for over a quarter century, the Program has been offered free of charge to approximately 185,000 students in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area.
An expert in his field, Mr. Vranicar holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Grinnell College and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Iowa. Additionally, he was a certified fundraising professional. To remain abreast of changes in the field, he has maintained affiliation with the Missouri Bar Association. Subsequent to obtaining his education, he was admitted to practice law before the U.S. Court of Military Justice, the Supreme Court of Missouri, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Eighth and Tenth Circuits.
Utilizing his special knowledge and skills, Mr. Vranicar authored in "Planned Giving Today." In his spare time, he contributed to his community through chairing the Senior Companion Program's Advisory Council and the Board of Directors of the Coterie Family Theatre. He has also been President and an Officer in the Sierra Club of Kansas City, Missouri and Board Member and Program Chair of the Mid-America Planned Giving Council. He also chaired the Cure' of Ars Catholic Parish Peace and Justice Committee.
In light of his outstanding accomplishments, Mr. Vranicar has been recognized many times, earning a President's Medal from Grinnell College and inclusion into Phi Beta Kappa. He has also been honored as a two-time presenter at international conferences on critical topics of planned giving. In the near future, Mr. Vranicar intends to experience the continued enjoyment of his retirement.
