Dr. Robert Lane McCarthy serves as a professor of physics with Stony Brook University

Throughout his career, he has had many highlights, but some that stand out are discovering evidence for partons in production of hadrons, as well as the discovery of the Higgs Boson particle in 2012.
An expert in his field, Dr. McCarthy holds a Bachelor of Arts in physics, summa cum laude, from Harvard University and a Doctor of Philosophy in physics from the University of California, Berkeley. In order to remain abreast of changes in the field, he maintains affiliation with the American Physical Society, the American Association of Physics Teachers and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Due to his outstanding accomplishments, Dr. McCarthy has been honored with grants through the National Science Foundation and features in Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in American Education.
