Beth Gardner Fulfilled Her Dream of Running a Travel Agency

When Beth Gardner was a girl of 17, she participated as a finalist for Ms. Calgary Stampeder. For this phase of the competition, each contestant was required to give a speech on the football field. Her question was, "How do you see yourself in the future?" Her answer was that she was going to own her own travel company one day. Though it was delayed, this prediction would eventually come true.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Gardner was working for an energy company in Tuktoyaktuk, booking crew staff from their homes to work sites in Canada. This experience gave her what she calls "the travel bug," which stayed with her when she left the energy company to enter the hospitality profession for a few years. She then moved back into travel, and within three years she owned her own company. Before opening her company, she was positioned in a corporate client office doing all the commercial travel for a big box commercial company. By her early 40s, Ms. Gardner felt that the time had come to open her own travel company.
