In addition to his primary responsibilities, Mr. Alexander has written extensively in his areas of expertise, having authored myriad articles published in professional journals.
Mr. Alexander began his career as a student at Harvard University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English, magna cum laude, in 1973. He continued his studies at the University of the West Indies, completing graduate coursework from 1973 to 1976. Mr. Alexander concluded his education at Simmons College in 1983, graduating with a Master of Science in library and information science.
Throughout his career, Mr. Alexander has been recognized for his contributions. He is the recipient of the Infinite Mile Award from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Recognition Award from the MIT Black Graduate Student Association, and the Richard W. Hale Award from New England Archivists. Likewise, Mr. Alexander has been featured in numerous publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America.
