Supported by more than 45 years of professional excellence, Mr. Erickson has served as an insurance and financial consultant since 2010, having previously held the post of a retirement strategy consultant with Erickson & Associates from 2003 to 2010. Mr. Erickson was a graduate of Homewood Flossmoor High School in Flossmoor, Illinois. Prior to these appointments, he worked as the chief executive officer and the president of the Greater Los Angeles Financial Group, Inc., from 1999 to 2003. Likewise, he excelled as an Agency Vice President and a senior marketing and sales executive for the Metropolitan Life General Insurance Agency, Inc., between 1989 and 1998, having previously found success with the agency as a Regional Sales Manager from 1986 to 1989 and a corporate Director from 1984 to 1986. Previously, he contributed to Metropolitan Life and its affiliated companies in multiple capacities, including as a branch manager, marketing specialist and sales manager between 1978 and 1981. Mr. Erickson began his career with the corporation as a sales representative in 1975, holding this position for three years.
Alongside his primary endeavors, Mr. Erickson was active as a representative of Sales Manager Advocates in New York City in 1979, as well as the former director of the South Cook County Association of Life Underwriters in 1983. During his tenure, he also maintained affiliation with numerous organizations in relation to his areas of expertise, including the National Association of Securities Dealers, the Life Underwriters Training Council, Chartered Life Underwriters and the National Association of Life Underwriters. Mr. Erickson led the Los Angeles Region of Met Life from last to first nationally in overall performance with 750 people in 28 locations. Mr. Erickson was a member of the General Agents and Managers Association and qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table working with small business owners.
The author of "Metropolitan Manpower Development: A Guideline for Success," published in 1986, Mr. Erickson pursued an education at the University of Kentucky, earning a Bachelor of Science. He concluded his studies with a Master of Business Administration, also at the University of Kentucky. Mr. Erickson was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, lettered four years and was captain of the University of Kentucky Men's Soccer Team, and continued to play after college. Mr. Erickson was appointed as a Kentucky Colonel by Governor Patton in 2000. A native of Chicago, IL; Mr. Erickson's activities include coaching over 1000 soccer games in Southern California with many champions at youth and adult levels. In addition he participates in mountain climbing and AKC dog shows with his Norwegian Elkhounds. Mr. Erickson reenacts Revolutionary War and Civil War scenes; and works as a time period extra with the LA studios in numerous commercials, tv shows and movies.
