From there, he held assistant and associate professor roles with Georgia State University and the University of Illinois. Over the years, he gained valuable expertise in the field through Kansas State University in Manhattan, Landmark National Bank's predecessor companies, the Citizens National Bank and the Kansas Council for Economic Education. In a career filled with highlights, Dr. Jones is especially proud of starting the first school of business at Kansas State University.
An expert in his field, Dr. Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, and a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy from Northwestern University. In order to give back to his community, he affiliates himself with the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation, and Shepherd's Crossing. With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, he authored "American Economic History," along with D.L. Kemmerer, and "Caring for the Aged: An Appraisal of Nursing Homes and their Alternatives." Due to his outstanding work in the field, he has been honored many times, earning a Citizen of the Year Award and the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, a fellowship through the Kansas Council on Economic Education, the Legacy Award from The Meadowlark Hills Foundation, and features in Who's Who in America. In the near future, Dr. Jones intends to enjoy his retirement.
