Supported by 40 years of practiced experience in history and academia, Dr. Moon has been holding the title of professor emeritus at Fitchburg State University since 1993, where he started as a professor in 1982. Previously, he gained valuable expertise through Merrimack College as an instructor of English, Boston University as an instructor of English, Boston State College as an instructor, assistant professor, associate professor and full professor of history, and King's College London as a visiting professor. Although his career has been filled with highlights, he is especially proud of advocating for his fellow teachers at Boston State College. As the institution was closed down, he fought to place the faculty members in other academic positions so that they would not lose their jobs.
An expert in his field, Dr. Moon holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and literature and a Doctor of Philosophy in American civilization from Harvard University, as well as a Master of Arts in English and comparative literature from Columbia University. With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, he authored "Confines of Concept: American Strategy in World War II" in 1988 and co-edited with Erhard Geissler "Biological and Toxin Weapons: Research, Development and Use from the Middles Ages to 1945" in 1999. Additionally, he has contributed numerous articles to professional journals, including the Journal of Strategic Studies and International Security.
In light of his excellence in the field, Dr. Moon earned a grant from the John D. and Catherine MacArthur Foundation and the John Kittredge Fund. Married with three children and four grandchildren, he enjoys mountain climbing, collecting books, trekking and traveling in his spare time. In the near future, Dr. Moon intends to continue enjoying his retirement.
