Located in Clark, New Jersey, the institute has been providing people across the tristate area with access to healing herbs, and nutritional supplements since 1983. The Kinley Institute is a multi-mobile professional facility specializing in chronic disabling pain, and the restoration of health and normal function. This comprehensive center specializes exclusively in utilizing acupuncture and oriental medicine; additional practices available when required include physical therapy and hypnosis. Prior to the establishment of The Kinley Institute he owned and operated his own physical therapy office in Cranford, New Jersey, from 1960 to 1963. He was also in private practice for massage in Newark, New Jersey from 1957-1960 as well as a former consultant for physical therapy for the visiting nurse associations. David Kinley Jr. was also consulted in acupuncture and physical therapy for The Sunny Isles Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida.
He has served as an assistant in preparation of licensing legislation for New Jersey acupuncture and physical therapy and has sat on the examining board of The New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners. David Kinley also notably founded The Kinley Comprehensive Center for Acupuncture & Physical Therapy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is the founder and president of The Acupuncture Moxibustion Association of New Jersey and a past president of The New Jersey Association for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine. He also served as president and held numerous other roles with the New Jersey State Physical Therapy Society. He was a past president of The American Acupuncture Association & Oriental Medicine and The New Jersey Acupuncture Association. Mr. Kinley is a longtime member of the Association of Applied Psychophysiology & Biofeedback, The International Society of Professional Hypnotist, The International Society of Myomas Ethics, The Florida State Massage Association and The Florida Association for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, among many others. He has been cited in approximately 20 additions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in the World.
Always interested in healthcare and in the treatment of patients, David Kinley graduated from massage school and became a massage practitioner. He then attended physical therapy school and eventually became interested in the mind and the study of biofeedback hypnosis. He since earned a Doctor of Mechanotherapy from Easton College in 1970 and completed postgraduate coursework for Traditional Chinese Acupuncture at The Tri-State Institute between 1979-1982 and completed advanced studies in pathology. He is licensed in acupuncture, physical therapy and massage and is certified in hypnosis, biofeedback and touch for help.
Married since 1958 to Helen Sandra Wehrle, he has three beautiful daughters. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, boating and various other outdoor activities. He also loves to read and travel. Since the year 2000 he has reduced the number of facilities he owned or directed. Presently he continues to treat patients at the Clark, New Jersey location and also conducts independent medical acupuncture examinations for numerous insurance carriers.
