With more than 30 years of engineering experience, Mr. Rudd is a manufacturing consultant, a chemical engineer, and both the co-founder and the director of David W. Rudd Associates. He had the great honor of working for over two decades with the Western Electric Company as the senior staff engineer from 1969 to 1994, having previously been associated with the company as a bureau speaker from 1964 to 1966. During this time, he was also a member of the research staff at the Engineering Research Center in Princeton, New Jersey, from 1978 to 1980. Earlier in his career, Mr. Rudd excelled as a research chemist involved a wide range of work with Metal Hydrides Inc. through the United States Atomic Energy Commission from 1960 to 1962, the Kendall Company from 1958 to 1960 and the Monsanto Chemical Company from 1956 to 1958.

Accomplishing much over the course of his career, Mr. Rudd has conducted significant research into surface chemistry, the permeability of metals to hydrogen and rocket propellant synthesis, among other topics. He also served with Bell Labs for a decade, observing synthetic crystal growth and infrared methods of Q evaluation of synthetic quartz. Impressively, he holds six United States patents and one international patent for chemical synthesis, the growth of synthetic quartz, the infrared analysis of quartz and the computer control of synthetic quartz crystal growth. Publishing his first paper while he was with the Kendall Company, Mr. Rudd subsequently contributed to roughly 50 scholarly works in the areas of chemical synthesis, chemical engineering, crystal growth and statistical quality control.

Prior to embarking on his career, Mr. Rudd began his studies as a student at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry in 1953. He later enlisted in the United States Army, serving with the 1st Cavalry Division, 7th Cavalry Regiment from 1953 to 1955. Returning to his academic efforts at Northeastern University in Boston, he earned a Master of Science in physical chemistry in 1962, graduating second in his class after just three years. Furthermore, Mr. Rudd has been certified as a lead assessor and an auditor by the British Standards Institute and the International Organization for Standardization.

A respected voice in his areas of expertise, Mr. Rudd has been an active leader in his community as well. The former president of the Western Electric Company's Electric Engineering Excellence Society, he also is a member of the Service Corps of Retired Executives, the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Western Foothills Heritage Trust and the McLaughlin Family Foundation. Additionally, Mr. Rudd has participated on the board of directors of the Sumner Historical Society, and has been affiliated with the Order of Saint Vincent, the American Association for Crystal Growth, the American Tree Farm System and the Arabian Horse Association.

Throughout his career, Mr. Rudd has been recognized for his contributions. The co-recipient of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, he was presented with the AT&T Volunteer Tutoring Program Award, the C. B. Sawyer Memorial Award and the Western Electric Company Engineering Excellence Award. Impressively, he was recognized for his work in growing synthetic quartz with a Lucent Technologies Patent Award, which allowed his team to be able to expedite the production of the quartz to much success. In light of all of his accomplishments, Mr. Rudd has previously been featured in numerous publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in the World.
