Drawing upon a college background as well as an independent, self-starting mindset, Ms. Anderson excelled as the owner of the Decorating Den Interiors franchise from 1992 to 2002, which demonstrated her skill set in business development. She is a versatile professional, she also worked as a senior analyst at Contel from 1971 to 1991, an executive secretary at Pillsbury Company from 1953 to 1960 and a water safety instructor and trainer for various locations between 1962 and 1970. Also interested in contributing to her community, Ms. Anderson has volunteered with the Parkview United Church of Christ and other religious organizations.
Since 2010, Ms. Anderson has been honing her water color painting skills; she not only attended national workshops and classes, she also traveled to France to paint and Italy to study. Furthermore, she Joined NorthStar Watermedia Society where she has served as its president, vice president and treasurer. In 2015 she chaired the First National Juried Exhibition in Hopkins, MN and she remains chair with the responsibility of setting up the 5th annual Exhibition which will be held in Lakeville, MN this year.
A coordinator for the vision-hearing screening program for the American Red Cross, Ms. Anderson was further involved with the Minneapolis Institute of Art, among other instances of outreach. She is also affiliated with the Heathkit Computer Users Groups, serving as treasurer from 1982 to 1983, Interested in maintaining professional connections, Ms. Anderson is associated with the Monterey Jacks Toastmasters, for which she was president in 1984, along with other local organizations.
In 2010, after brushing up on her watercolor painting skills, Ms. Anderson ventured to a workshop in Provence, France, and a second time in 2015 to Tuscany, Italy. In 2011, she joined the NorthStar Watermedia Society, becoming its president in 2015, when they celebrated their 40th year, and has served as treasurer since 2016. She also chaired the visionary NSWS National Juried Art Exhibition of 2015 to the committee's 5th annual 2019 Exhibition in the Lakeville Area Art Center.
Toward the beginning of her career, Ms. Anderson found herself drawn to an array of professional paths before she decided to focus on systems analysis and forecasting analysis. A hard worker from a young age, she has accrued expertise in athletic work, farm work, and experience with the culinary arts. Eager to develop her occupational abilities, she notably engaged in self-study while working at Contel, honing her skills in human resources and engineering as a result. Due to her professional excellence, Ms. Anderson has been mentioned in the 14th edition of Who's Who of American Women.
