MOUNT PLEASANT, MI, May 16, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Craig Allen Pollock with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Pollock celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Pollock is a mechanical engineer who spent much of his career in the automotive industry. Originally working for Republic Steel in Cleveland, OH, for four years as a combustion engineer, he was then hired by GMC Truck & Coach in Pontiac, MI, as an energy and environmental engineer in 1979. He then went to work for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI, for 13 years, first as a plant and manufacturing engineer and later as a superintendent of productivity and quality engineering. He also worked for Hilex, a large manufacturer of window regulators; Faurecia and Aetna automotive parts manufacturers; and Millennium, a manufacturer that specializes in the production and design of high precision and quality components used in the electronics, medical, capital goods, instrumentation and aerospace markets, after working for Case in Racine, Wisconsin. Today, Mr. Pollock has been the senior manufacturing engineer for Welbilt in Mount Pleasant since 2013. Welbilt provides the world's top chefs and premier chain operators or growing independents with industry-leading equipment and solutions.
Conducting an extensive amount of research in his field, Mr. Pollock learned the many complexities of the properties of metal in manufacturing. Discovering that once a part is made to dimension, metal expands and springs back, which makes manufacturing difficult. For the result to be more accurate, tooling must be different from the product drawing. In modern day, computers handle this. Mr. Pollock was also instrumental in inventing a portable filling machine that provides refrigerant to other machines with a company called V Tech.
Mr. Pollock is a longtime member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Society of Automotive Engineers, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and several honor societies. Locally, he is a member of the Presbyterian Church, where he serves as choir member.
Pursuing a career in engineering because of his family, Mr. Pollock's father and grandfather were both engineers. Deciding to focus on mechanical engineering in college, he felt that the industry would allow for more improvement in manufacturing. Earning a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, summa cum laude, from Michigan Technological University in 1980, he soon after completed a Master of Business Administration, summa cum laude, at the University of Michigan in 1983. He is a registered professional engineer in Michigan.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Craig Allen Pollock has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
