With 24 years of industry experience to his credit, Dr. Sethi has served as the interim chief of radiology and nuclear medicine at Kansas City VA Medical Center since 2019, previously working in the same role in 2017 and as the service chief from 2010 to 2012. He began his career as the resident physician in internal medicine at the State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn, NY in 1995, remaining in this position for one year before becoming a resident in radiology at Wayne State University Medical Center in Detroit from 1996 to 1998 and Saint Vincent's Catholic Medical Center from 1998 to 2000. Dr. Sethi later participated in a number of capacities at the University of Missouri-Columbia, including as a clinical instructor and a cross sectional imaging fellow from 2000 to 2001 and an assistant professor from 2001 to 2009.
During this time, Dr. Sethi was active as the staff radiologist at Harry S. Truman VA Medical Center from 2001 to 2004. Since 2010, he has excelled as a clinical associate professor of radiology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. In addition to this tenure, Dr. Sethi flourished as the director of the medical students' radiology curriculum at the University of Missouri School of Medicine from 2002 to 2006, the director of the radiology residency from 2005 to 2009, the director of the MRI fellowship at the University of Missouri-Columbia from 2006 to 2009.
The chair of the Kansas City VA Hospital patient satisfaction committee from 2012 to 2014, Dr. Sethi has contributed to the aforementioned hospital as a chair of radiation safety committee as well as as the associate director of its radiology residency since 2017. Prior to embarking on his professional path, he grew up in India and pursued a formal education at the University of Delhi, earning a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1987 and a Doctor of Medicine in 1992. After graduating, Dr. Sethi became a diplomate of the National Boards of Radiology in India in 1992 and the American Board of Radiology in 2001.
Outside of his primary trade, he has been appointed to the board of directors for the Missouri State Radiological Society from 2005 to 2009. A lifetime member of the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, he has also maintained involvement with the American College of Radiology, the American Medical Association, the Clinical Magnetic Resonance Society, and the American Roentgen Ray Society. Likewise, Dr. Sethi has been affiliated with the Missouri State Medical Association, which celebrated his impressive endeavors with the Marconi Phillips Aur Award for Faculty Development in 2004.
The recipient of many awards and accolades, Dr. Sethi was honored with a Physician Recognition in 2001 and as Radiology Teacher of the Year by the University of Missouri-Columbia from 2002 to 2004. Furthermore, he was presented with the Service Quality Hero Award by the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in 2002 and 2004 and the Order of Socrates Award by the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine in 2005. Likewise, Dr. Sethi is featured in the 26th edition of Who's Who in the World and several editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
