John P. Geibel, MD is an assistant professor in the department of surgery at Yale University.

At the inception of his career, he gained valuable expertise as an assistant professor in the department of physiology at the University of Innsbruck in Austria beginning in 1981. After four years in that role, he later became an assistant professor in the department of surgery at Yale University beginning in 1991, a role he still holds today. In addition, to this endeavor, he has been working as vice chair of the department of surgery. Furthermore, he has been serving as a consultant for the Analytical Imaging Corporation since 1989, having previously acted in the same capacity for Nikon Optical in 1990.
An expert in his field, Dr. Geibel holds a Master of Science from the University of New Brunswick in Canada, and a Doctor of Science and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Innsbruck. To remain abreast of changes in the field, he maintains affiliation with the Society of General Physiologists, the American Society of Nephrology, the New York Academy of Sciences, the Austrian Physiological Society, the American Gastroenterology Association, the Society of University Surgeons, and the Association of Academic Surgeons.
In light of his professional accomplishments, Dr. Geibel earned a Research Service Award from the National Institutes of Health, a fellowship through the International Society of Nephrology, an honor through the Austrian Ministry of Science, and features in Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
Married to Annemarie Moling since 1980, Dr. Geibel is the proud father of two children, Peter and Rainer. In the near future, he intends to experience the continued growth and success of his career at Yale University.
