For more than four decades, Mr. Rogan has excelled in the field of law, culminating with his work with Rogan Mediation, where he specializes in maritime, aviation, toxic tort, personal injury, business and product liability law. Earlier in his career, he found success in complex litigation matters as a trial attorney for the Public Defender's Office of Los Angeles County, and as an associate and partner with Lillick, McHose & Charles, Pillsbury Madison, and his own boutique litigation firms, Crowe & Rogan, and Rogan Lehrman in Santa Monica. He recently prevailed at trial and in a California Supreme Court case, Kim v. Toyota 5232754. As the son of two attorneys, he felt a natural attraction to a career in law and has since tried more than 120 jury trials to verdict. One of Mr. Rogan's proudest professional moments was procuring an acquittal for a woman who was accused of killing her husband; the jury determined she acted in self-defense and was acquitted.
A member of the State Bar of California since 1972, Mr. Rogan initially obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Claremont McKenna College. He started at Loyola Law School Los Angeles but was drafted in the first year and served with the Army Special Forces 5th Group (Green Berets) and First Field Forces in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969 including the Tet Offensive, receiving the ARCOM for meritorious service. He returned to Loyola Law, graduating in 1972 and passing the bar. He has been married to Rilla Rothwell Rogan for over 51 years and has 4 grandchildren. Son Kevin practices law with Wilson Sonsine in Palo Alto, Ca. and is married to Barbara, Assistant GC of a Silicon Valley tech firm. Son Brendan is an executive with Turner Broadcasting and married to Ingrid, a photographer and jewelry designer.
Due to his professional excellence, Mr. Rogan has been honored by induction as a Fellow of the International Society of Barristers, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the American College of Trial Lawyers, and the Litigation Counsel of America. In addition, he has been honored with an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale Hubbell for over 35 years and continuing as well as earning recognition as a Super Lawyer from 2005 through the present. He has also had career long association with Southern California Defense Counsel, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the American Bar of which he is a member of the Foundation. Looking toward the future, Br Rogan intends to experience the continued growth and success of his career, and is currently serving as General Counsel of SterileBits Inc, a Delaware C Corporation as well as continuing as a mediator for litigation in the State and Federal Courts.
