Over the years, she served as an English as a Second Language instructor with a plethora of institutions, including the Briam Institute/American Cultural Center in Madrid, Spain, the Church College of Western Samoa, Brigham Young University, Arkansas State University, Kuwait University and Pasadena City College beginning in 1972. Although her career has been filled with highlights, she is especially proud of making a positive impact on the lives of her students.
An expert in her field, Dr. Boyer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Oregon State University, a Master of Arts in teaching English as a second language from Brigham Young University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in internationall education from the University of Southern California. To remain abreast of changes in the field, she maintains affiliation with Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (now known as TESOL International Association) and the California Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (CATESOL).
In her spare time, Dr. Boyer contributes to her community through the Huntington Beach Community Emergency Response Team. In light of her outstanding contributions to the industry, she was selected for inclusion in the 25th and 26th editions of Who's Who in the West between 1995 and 1997. In the coming years, Dr. Boyer intends to seek retirement.
