Upon graduating with an Associate of Arts from Mount Mary College in Yankton, South Dakota in 1949, Ms. Beattie began her career as a teacher with Watertown Public School in 1950. Subsequently, she worked as a paralegal for Petit, Olin & Safeblade in Chicago between 1954 and 1962, and in 1964, she began her tenure with Touche Ross and CO. (now Deloitte and Touche), serving as corporate secretary, administration director, and the director of communications in Chicago and New York until 1991. Just a year later, she joined Catholic Charities in Chicago as a consultant.
Ms. Beattie completed post-graduate coursework at Wright College in Chicago in 1965 and St. Xavier College in 1957. She is a member of the Musician's Club for Women and the World Trade Club in New York City. Civically, Ms. Beattie was involved with the Beverly Art Center Players as a producer and director from 1970 to 1978, and she has served as a board advisor for St. Benedict's Preparatory School in Chicago since 1997. A skilled professional in the field of business, Ms. Beattie has also acted as an editor for "Touche Ross International World Review' in New York and the "Voice of Charity" in Chicago.
In a career filled with highlights, Ms. Beattie is particularly proud to have been a mentor for two accomplished women, who she both respects and admires. For her efforts, she was named among the Academy of Women Achievers in New York and was presented the Distinguished Service Award to the church and community. Additionally, Ms. Beattie has been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the Media and Communications, and Who's Who in America.
