Sitting on the board of directors of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for more than a decade, he has been a docent since 2015 with Indiana Landmarks and was involved with estate planning for second marriages. Impressively, Mr. Manterfield was the chair of the board of the Indiana affiliation of the American Heart Association for four fruitful years.
To share his wealth of knowledge with the legal community, Mr. Manterfield authored three books: "Basic Estate Planning" in 1980, "Fundamentals of Estate Planning" in 1982, and "Estate Planning for Married Couples" in 1982. He also wrote the fourth edition of "Critical Elements of Estate Planning with Forms" in 2009 and wrote several articles which have appeared in esteemed legal journals. In addition, Mr. Manterfield remains current with industry developments through affiliations with the Indianapolis Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Estate Planning Council of Indianapolis, where he previously served as treasurer, secretary, vice president and president.
Among the notable highlights of his career, Mr. Manterfield is most proud of becoming a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, the highest professional recognition that a lawyer can receive.
