With nearly 40 years of professional experience, Dr. Frumin currently excels as the director of cardiac electrophysiology at Saddleback Medical Center in Laguna Hills, CA. Prior to this appointment, he served as the director of electrophysiology at the Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI, from 1993 to 2002. Earlier in his career, Dr. Frumin was fellowship director and co-chief of cardiology at Simi Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
Initially intending to pursue teaching as a profession, Dr. Frumin earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1971. Returning to school for premedical coursework, he obtained a Doctor of Medicine from Wayne State University in Detroit in 1978. Following these accomplishments, Dr. Frumin completed a residency in internal medicine at the Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in San Diego, a fellowship in cardiology at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, and training in cardiac pacing and electrophysiology at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City.
Alongside his primary career responsibilities, Dr. Frumin has worked as a consultant for various pacemaker and ICD manufacturers. He is the author of many articles published in several professional journals, such as the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, the Journal of Interventional Cardiology and the American Heart Journal. His articles have been cited hundreds of times in the work of others
For excellence in his professional and civic endeavors, Dr. Frumin has been the recipient of a number of honors and accolades. Notably elected as a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, he was presented with an Award for Jewish Resettlement by the Jewish Federations of North America in 1986.
