Earlier in his career, he was a chemist with the ExxonMobile Research and Engineering Co. in Linden, New Jersey, from 1967 to 1970. In addition to his primary roles, Dr. McMahon is a former associate editor of Chromatography Illustrated and the Journal of Chromatographic Science.
Dr. McMahon first pursued an education as a student at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in chemistry in 1963. Continuing his studies at the University of New Hampshire, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy in 1968. In order to keep abreast of developments in his field, Dr. McMahon maintains professional affiliation with the American Society for Testing and Materials International, the American Chemical Society, the Knights of Columbus and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
