At the beginning of her career, she worked for Salmon Brook Convalescent as a charge nurse, a position she held for more than a decade. Over the years, she also found success with Nursing Services, Inc. and the Saint Elizabeth Health Center. Now that she is retired, Ms. Dickman volunteers for the Republican Party and serves as a consulting school nurse for the Hartford Christian Academy.
An expert in her field, Ms. Dickman has earned a Bachelor of Arts in guidance counseling from Bob Jones University, an Associate of Science in general studies from Manchester Community College and an Associate of Science in Nursing from the State University of New York. Additionally, she became certified as a professional death educator and bereavement supporter. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. Dickman is affiliated with the Hospice Council of Connecticut, the Connecticut Authors Association and the Association for Death Education & Counseling.
In a career filled with highlights, Ms. Dickman was especially proud of making a difference in the lives of her patients as well as authoring the children's book "Chuckles and Honey" in 1991. For her professional accomplishments, she has been honored in two editions of Who's Who in America. Looking toward the future, Ms. Dickman intends to enjoy her retirement.
