He began his career with the Amoco Chemical Company in Naperville in 1977 as a research chemist. Dr. Kaduk further progressed to the position of a staff research chemist for the company between 1981 and 1985, before leaving for the same role with BP Amoco in Naperville in 1985.
During his time with the aforementioned organization, Dr. Kaduk held the posts of a senior research scientist and an associate research scientist from 1988 to 2009. He has found success as the president of Poly Crystallography Inc. since 2009, a research professor of chemistry at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago since 2010, and a senior research scientist for the North Central College in Naperville since 2016. Dr. Kaduk also worked as a visiting lecturer for the North Central College.
Dr. Kaduk is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1973. He continued his studies with a Master of Science at Northwestern University in 1975. Subsequently, Dr. Kaduk concluded his academic efforts at Northwestern University, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy in 1977.
Civically, Dr. Kaduk served in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of first lieutenant in 1979. He also contributed his time and efforts as the president of the Naperville Community Chorus and as a member of the board directors of the DuPage Symphony from 1989 to 1993. An author of articles published in numerous professional journals, Dr. Kaduk is the holder of a patent for the synthesis of the zeolite ferrierite using chelating templates, and he has two other patents.
To remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Kaduk maintains a professional affiliation with the American Crystallographic Association, the International Union Crystallography, and the International Center for Diffraction Data. For his achievements in the field, he has been presented with the Jenkins Award for a lifetime achievement in x-ray diffraction in 2017. Outside of his primary responsibilities, Dr. Kaduk enjoys choral music and woodworking in his spare time.
