With more than 40 years of agricultural experience to his credit, Mr. Wessler has become an authority in his industry. His career path began as a farmer and rancher in Springfield, Colorado, in 1950. He excelled as the director of the secretary board of the Springfield Co-op Sales Company from 1964 to 1980, a member of the special committee at Promark in 1978, member of the special committee on grain marketing at Far-Mar-Co., Inc., and member of the Colorado Co-op Council from 1969 to 1972. The president of the board and president of the Arkansas Valley Co-Op Council in the Southeast Colorado area from 1965 to 1987, he also served as community committee chairman of Baca County at the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service from 1961 to 1973 and since 1979.
Outside of his career, Mr. Wessler is involved in a number of organizations, including the Colorado Cattlemen's Association, the Colorado Wheat Grower's Association, the Southeast Farm Business Association, where he sat on the board of directors from 1991 to 1995, and the Big Rock Grange, where he is a past master. Likewise, he is affiliated with the Southwest Kansas Farm Association as a director, the Southwest Kansas Farm Business Association as past vice president, the Farm Business Association as past vice president, and the Farm Management Association of the South West as a member. Since 1987, he has been an appointed special committee member of the Farmland Industries' Special Project Tomorrow, having formerly served as chairman of the board of directors of the Springfield Cemetery Board and advisory board member of the Denver Baptist Bible College (now merged with Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary).
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Wessler received the Colorado Cooperator Award from the Colorado Cooperative Council in 1990. In recognition of his many accomplishments, he has also been featured in several editions of Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West and Who's Who in the World.
