SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY, July 10, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Klaus F. Schmidt with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Schmidt celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Schmidt celebrates more than seven incredible decades in advertising. A longtime advertising and graphic arts consultant since 1991, he attained this role after retiring as the senior vice president and manager of production services with Young & Rubicam. Working for the New York firm for 30 years, he also headed the company as vice president and the director of creative support and as the vice president and director of print operations.
Born and raised in Germany, Mr. Schmidt was first introduced to the field after taking a job as a printing apprentice. Several years later, after moving to the United States for more opportunities, he spent the early years of his career as a type director with Mogul Williams Saylor and Doyle Dane Bernbach in New York City. Since that time, he served as the co-founder and the chair of the board of trustees for the International Center for the Typographic Arts and as the co-organizer of the Vision Congress for the International Center for Communications Arts and Sciences in New York City. These professional organizations, Mr. Schmidt noted, played a huge role in his success, as they provided him with a great sense of fulfillment in his professional life.
Alongside his primary responsibilities, Mr. Schmidt is an accomplished author and editor. Publishing "Signs of the Times" in 1997, he previously acted as a contributing editor for The Dunn Report between 1991 and 1995 and the Print Magazine between 1968 and 2001. Earlier in his career, he worked as the American editor for Der Druckspiegel from 1957 to 1968. Prior to embarking on his career endeavors, he completed coursework at the College of Journalism in Aachen, Germany, and the School of Design and Printing in Bochum, Germany, before going on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts from Wayne State University in Detroit.
In order to keep abreast of development in his field, Mr. Schmidt has been very active with several professional organizations. A past president of the New York Type Directors Club and the Advertising Production Club of New York, he has also held leadership roles with the Art Directors Club of New York, the Print Advertising Association and the Gravure Advertising Council. Honored with a Typomundus Award in 1964 and an International Book Exhibition Award in 1965, Mr. Schmidt has since become a celebrated Marquis listee who has been featured in over 30 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business and Who's Who in the East.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Mr. Schmidt has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
