After completing his service with the U.S. Army, he completed a residency in internal medicine at Hines VA Hospital and began his career at the Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago (later the vice chairman of the department of medicine), and in private practice in internal medicine. Over the years, he found success in medical administration at AT&T Long Lines, GTE Automatic Electric, the West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, IL, and Lockheed Martin Energy Systems in Oak Ridge, TN. In a career filled with highlights, Dr. Conrad is especially proud of his work with Lockheed Martin, a company that took pride in protecting the health of its workers, and under his leadership won the first ACOEM Corporate Health Achievement Award.
An expert in his field, Dr. Conrad pursued an education at the University of Illinois, initially earning a Bachelor of Science. He continued his studies with a Bachelor of Medicine, also at the University of Illinois. A diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Occupational Medicine, Dr. Conrad concluded his academic efforts at the University of Illinois, graduating with a Doctor of Medicine.
In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Conrad is affiliated with the American College of Occupational & Environmental Medicine, the American College of Physicians, the American College of Preventive Medicine and the Central States Occupational and Environmental Medical Association. During his spare time, he has contributed to his communities through the United Lutheran Church, the River Forest Tennis Club, Youth Haven, the Knoxville Opera, Rotary Club of Oak Ridge, and the Episcopal Church of the Good Samaritan in Knoxville, TN. He also served as volunteer medical director of Interfaith Health Clinic in Knoxville. Looking toward the future, Dr. Conrad intends to experience the continued growth and success of his consultancy.
