Dr. Shelley Conroy became Dean of the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing and Tenured Professor in January 2012.

While at Baylor, she completed a two-year term as the Inaugural Dean for the Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences. In her LHSON tenure, she has exhibited strong leadership with the creation of a strategic plan and vision for the future, successful accreditation for and expansion of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, and creation of the Masters of Science in Nursing Leadership and Innovation and the Doctor of Nursing Practice in Executive Nurse Leadership online degree programs. Under her leadership, the school's USNWR rankings have advanced to be included in the top 50 in the US.
Notably, Dr. Conroy was named to the Great 100 Nurses of DFW in 2016, a D Magazine Excellence in Nursing Leadership Finalist for both 2014 and 2015 and honored as a Visionary Nurse Leader by Virginia Commonwealth University in 2013 and Virginia's Outstanding Nurse by the VNA of Virginia in 1999. She was named the first nurse member of the Baylor University Medical Center Board of Trustees in 2012. She is the current President of the Southern Regional Education Board Council on Collegiate Education in Nursing (SREB CCEN).
An AACN Wharton Executive Nurse Fellow and Certified Nurse Educator by NLN, she is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International. She holds a Master of Science degree in Maternal-Infant Nursing with a role specialization in Nursing Education from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Central Florida with a specialization in nursing education and a cognate in health policy.
